At CES 2024 last month, Asus announced its latest gaming phone called ROG Phone 8. This collection includes two models: ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro. The standard models retain the glossy materials and RGB, while the Pro model has a more casual phone look with its flashy gaming design. In addition, the new phones are available for download with a selection of new gaming wallpapers, including high-quality options for the ROG Phone 8 Pro.
Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro – Quick Overview
Asus recently launched its latest gaming phones globally and they are currently available in Europe, India and Taiwan. The phones are slated to launch in the US in the first quarter. Before we dive into the wallpapers section, let’s take a quick look at the specifications of the new phones.
Starting with the display, the ROG Phone 8 Pro features a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate that offers a bright display with a maximum brightness of up to 2500 nits and HDR10 support.
Under the hood, the ROG Phone 8 Pro is equipped with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and Adreno 750 GPU. In terms of software, this phone runs on Android 14 operating system and uses various artificial intelligence features to improve game performance and wallpaper generation. The ROG Phone 8 Pro has options for 16GB and 24GB RAM, as well as 512GB and 1TB storage options. Additionally, this year’s model has an IP68 water resistance rating.
On the camera front, the phone has a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera with Super HyperSteady Video mode, a 13MP ultra-wide sensor and a 32MP telephoto camera. For selfies, ROG Phone 8 Pro is equipped with a 32-megapixel camera.
Asus has equipped the latest gaming phone with a 5000 mAh battery and supports 66W fast charging. The initial price of the Pro model in Europe is 1199 euros.
