Xiaomi HyperOS – Quick Overview
Much like Huawei‘s development of Harmony OS as an alternative to Android, Xiaomi is on the cusp of a similar endeavor to bolster its ecosystem. Referred to as ‘HyperOS,’ this replacement for MIUI is set to combine elements of Android and Xiaomi’s in-house ‘Vela’ system, resulting in a ‘completely overhauled fundamental architecture.’ HyperOS, created by Xiaomi, represents a fresh operating system rooted in Android, leaving behind MIUI updates. It promises improved security, superior performance, and a more user-friendly user interface.
On Tuesday, Xiaomi made an announcement regarding the introduction of ‘HyperOS’ as its new operating system, adding that the forthcoming Xiaomi 14 series will be the pioneering devices to feature this novel operating system.
The Xiaomi 14 series (and HyperOS as part of it) is anticipated to launch around April next year, coinciding with the company’s 14th anniversary, hence the inclusion of ’14’ in the series name.
